Hi All,

This is my first time posting so I'm hoping someone can offer me some advice.

I'm British and married to a Canadian (both living in UK) We will be looking to move to Canada in the next few years. I'm a qualified electrician, so would be looking to also obtain a provincial qualification to continue working in my trade. We will be selling our house here and buying a house in Canada so will be taking around $100k CAD maybe a little more, as a deposit.

My questions are:

1.What Visa process do I need to go through.
2.Can I obtain a provincial trades qualification (Ontario) whilst still living in the UK? even if this means me going to Canada to sit an exam..
3.Can we purchase a house as soon as we arrive in Canada? (no 6 month or a year compulsory waiting time before purchasing? something I have heard..)

If anyone can offer advice I'd be very grateful! and if anyone has been through anything similar (There must be people out there!) I would love to get in contact for help and advice.

Many thanks in advance.. :D

You'll want to use the spousal sponsorship process. I would recommend you join the discussion in the Family Sponsorship section of the forum.

I don't know the answer to your certification question.

You can buy a house as soon as you arrive in Canada.
