Hi I need a little advice my partner an I are both british citizens and we would like to join the Canadian police. We have not worked in the British police force but have severved in the British Army for a short time.

I have read that you would need PR and to qualify for that you would need to work in Canada first on a WP first is that correct? I am currently a manager in a restaurant in the UK and my partner a security guard, would we both be able to get a work visa on that information?

Then how long would it take to get PR ? We are looking at all options at the moment, however we would like to join the Canadian police asap.

Please can someone give us any accurate advise on how to make our ambition possible ?

Thank you for taking the time to read this long winded question.

Hi,

Hope this site will give you some information.

As a restaurant manager, IF you have worked for a minimum of 12 months in this capacity, you may qualify to apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Workers category. (There are a number of other requirements - education, language proficiency, financial, age, etc.) There is a cap of 500 on each of 29 occupations in the list and the number will be reached soon (NOC 0631). Familiarize yourself with the application guide and the cic website. I think this may be your fastest option. Good Luck.
