I live in Canada on a WP, my wife has an open work permit. Would her son be eligible to come stay and go to school in Canada. It seems pretty easy if it was my child. But because it is my wife's child and not mine and she has a WP under my WP, i wonder if it is still possible?
She has sole parental rights and all the documents for that.

Thanks, as usual

Your previous posts say you are American. Are your wife and her son also American? If so, then it is a pretty simple matter for your stepson to enter Canada as a visitor. Once in Canada, as the child of a work permit holder, he is allowed to attend school without a study permit. It doesn't matter that her work permit was issued as a dependent of you.

Thanks for the reply
No, I am American, they are Thai

In that case, your stepson should apply for a study permit, based on being the dependent of a work permit holder.

But do you think it will be more difficult becaue I am considered the primary work permit holder and my wife is on an open work permit?
