Hello. I have a friend who had a landing interview and became a PR in-land. He has stayed in Canada for a few years without leaving & he cannot leave Canada for a quite a while yet. Could you please advise how much time he has to bring his money from his country to Canada as a part of his landing?
Thanks for all the inputs.

He already became a PR in-land? Then he no longer has show proof of funds. This is done only when landing, not after becoming a PR.

Thank you for you reply, CanV. Yes, he got PR in-land. Sorry for the confusion, we are just not sure how long after landing he has to bring his stuff and funds as a part of his landing.

As a PR, he can bring funds to Canada any time but he doesn't have to. He just needs to make sure he declares to customs if he is bringing more than $10,000 at one time.

Thank you for you reply Leon. We heard somewhere that the funds brought to Canada as a part of landing are not taxable. He has more than 200K to bring to Canada. We just cannot figure out what time range he has to bring the money not to pay taxes on it.

What kind of tax he has to pay to transfer foreign funds? None.
