Bringing Funds after Landing

Hi, I wasn't able to show any proof of funds during landing since didn't had docs handy. Now, I wish to bring in money. I hear, that we can bring in money upto CAD 100K within a year of landing (even if your didn't declare these funds at time of Landing) without being taxed in Canada. Can anyone confirm this understanding or otherwise and also if really any such amount limit/ time limit exists. Thanks in advance..

This is incorrect.

Once you became resident of Canada, you are subject to income taxes. You can bring any amount anytime if you want to.
