Bridging open work permit

My close work permit (GATS Visa) has expired on 8th Oct 2019 and my employer has already applied for extension. So I am currently in Canada on Implied status. I have just got OINP PNP and going to submit documents for my ITA in coming week.
Recently I came to know that I can also convert my close work permit to open work permit using my OINP and ITA documents. Is there a way? as my close work permit extension is already in process and waiting decision?

Two options -

1) Without longing into your account, you can use come to Canada tool https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/come-canada-tool.html to generate checklist with personal reference code and then enter that code to link it to your online account.

2) If you already have online account, you can log into your account and begin your application by sectioning "Determine your eligibility and apply online for a visitor visa/ work permit"

I did option 2

***Remember to choose "Open Work Permit option" whenever prompted.***
