Hi guys,

I'm applying for BOWP, my wife is on visitor record, how can extend her stay? can i just apply for me as BOWP, and her as extend visitor stay or apply for workpermit. she just gave birth so she cannot work at the moment, will it be easier to extend her visitor visa as accompanying spouse please help?

It's your choice.. U can either apply for SOWP or resident visa for your wife along with your BOWP application
 
is resident visa same as visitor visa?
 
They are not the same thing. A TRV is an entry visa that allows a person to enter Canada; it does not give a person status in Canada. A visitor wanting to stay in Canada longer needs to apply to extend their visitor status, not apply for a TRV.
