I've applied for bridging open work permit a month ago since my current permit and permit for my wife and two sons are about to expire in month from now.
At the time I applied online processing time was about 10 days and since than they have approved only one permit and that's for my 6 year old son even though I applied for all of us in one application.
Rest of us are still waiting but it's taking to long now.
My question is if anyone has had a similar case and had to call CIC center to inquire about it, I'm thinking about calling but I'm not sure if I'll get any specific information or I'll get one of those prerecorded messages?

I had submitted on 13th September. As of now, there is no update from CIC. I called CIC call center multiple time but, they only provided start date of processing details.

Not sure, what is happening for BOWP?

I applied on September 15th and I have received multiple mails saying that my application has been updated but when I go to check MyCIC there's nothing there.

Let's wait for this week.

just have patience. You can still work etc until you are told you do not qualify/rejection letter.

Also your son getting the permit is considered good progress.
Patience .. patience.

Is it true that if your current work permit expires, and you are still waiting for the BOWP, you have implied status? So you don't need to leave the country? Can we also work in that condition? What about Social Insurance Number? Without SIN, we can't work, but without a valid work permit, we can't get a SIN?

Anyone has experience on this?

Once you get a SIN it stays the same for as long as you are any type of temporary resident, you don't have to change it every time you're getting a new permit.

Thank you!

But the current SIN expires the same day as the work permit. In the period that our current work permit expired, and we are waiting for the new BOWP (the implied status period), we won't have a valid SIN, and without a valid SIN, can we still work?

Thanks again!

I don't think your sin is expiring but your SIN card because when I renewed my SIN the number was exactly the same.
I worked on implied status before, never caused me any problems.

The SIN card has an expiring date on it and it's the same date as my current work permit. Not sure about the SIN itself.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can still work, when you get the BOWP, you can renew the SIN... my employer didn't have any problems with that.

Anyone got the BOWP after September 10?????
