winnipeg ang pinaka coldest? di siguro ko mu agree.. diri sa alberta its usually 8-10 degrees celcius basta buntag (7AM-8AM), mao na forcast for this morning, then mga udto udto kay muabot nah ug 20, kung mag ulan, not more than 12...
panuhot ang dugay namong na adjust... sige pa mi ug utot utot ron, miski mag lakaw sa karsada, mag lingi pa mi sa imong likod kung dunay taw para dili makadungog... (well dili man baho ang utot sa panuhot, dba?)
naka adjust napud mis ka bugnaw... nag kurog nakog taman pag abot namo last August 11, at 16 degrees celcius, but karon, kanang 16, pwede ra dili jacketan (sweater ug jeans lang). Kung 10 degrees or lower kaya pa ang walking for 3 blocks, more than that mu korog na pud kos ka bugnaw kung dili mag jacket. (basta di lang pud mag taligsik)
daghan pa ug sale karon sa mga winter clothes, my wife just got her Columbia shoes cold rating of -25degrees for just $25 (around 1000 pesos), ngita pa ko ug sale next week...
mu share ko gamay sa akong experience so far...
daghan ug freebies diri's Canada. for example:
im looking forward in getting my FREE membership pass for gym, pool, skating arena and many recreational facilities - ONE YEAR - declaring myself as newcomer to Edmonton...
in Alberta, you also have free access to computer, printer (free print sa imong resume), photocopy (sa imo resume upto 25 pages) and fax machines - you can even do this routine EVERYDAY - wala jud excuse nga dili ka maka himo ug resume! and they tell you kung asa ang mga job fairs and ma interview ka on the spot!
sa City of Edmonton, duna sila public library nga dako kaayo and their system is far better than any private university. You can "request" a book and reserve nah sa imo and even borrow DVD movies released last 2009! naa pud wii, xbox and ps3 games. I only said that "Im new to the City and looking for work" and they gave a one year library card for FREE! and one for my wife too!
you may, once in Canada, avail of your provincial and City programs, para pud ma bawi bawi na ang gi invest nato... ayaw lang ug ulaw ulaw... I even went to the Food Bank to check it out, but didnt push through kay I saw others (homeless) really in need, and there's not much there to select anyways and taas taas pud ug linya.
i'm not opportunistic (well maybe) but according to a settlement officer, this is where your LANDING FEE (kadtong 21,000 pesos per person) goes... the health card, access to parks, recreation facilities, public services, library access, etc. so why not avail?
for those who are planning to go to the City of Edmonton, PM me para ma share nako ang akong love for the new city... (but Cebu, will always be HOME sweet home no matter what)
