Birthdate and father's name -- issue?

I am a Canadian citizen.

When my father registered his first name when he moved to Canada it is spelled differently by one letter compared to the spelling of his name on my identification card and marriage certificate.

He also registered my Birthdate different by few days. Year and month are correct. This is compared to my Canadian passport/birth card and my identification card and marriage certificate.

I am sponsoring my wife from back home and I don't want this to be an issue. How do I explain something like this?

When my nephew immigrated to Canada, there was a delay because of his birth certificate. A long story short, he has two birthdays, one real and one official. If all your paperwork has the same date, then just use that one. If there is a conflict, you need to fix the problem. Were born in Canada or out?

As for your father's name, you can put the difference down to a native language to Canadian English/French difference. If he is officially consistent with the new spelling in Canada, that's what is important.

The landing document has his name spelled that way, so I went consistent with that. Although the marriage contract and other papers notarized had his name spelled the other way.

I don't have experience with this, but whatever way you choose, just write an additional explanation to ensure that the visa officer understands the discrepancy. The fact that it is your father and you are sponsoring your wife, it won't be a big deal and a simple explanation will suffice.
