Hi All

I have to translate my son's birth certificate to English. (In India (Chennai)). I have checked with notary over here , but I did not get any translate certificate format for birth certificate translation.

please share your comments on below points
1) Is BC translate acceptable for FSW process?
2) Is any specific format available for BC translation? if so please share

The translation should be exactly the way original certificate is, expect that the language is changed. Translations are acceptable, but you will need to send to CIC...

1. Copy of original certificate, notarized/certified
2. English translation
3. Translator's affidavit (see sample http://www.toronto-notary-public.com/sample_trans_aff.htm)

Regards

Thank you so much for your reply.

But I have doubt on how to create translation copy (As per The translation should be exactly the way original certificate is, expect that the language is changed.) since original certificate have government log, seal and sign.

Please advice how to handle this?

hello there, just the translated document of the BC would work for application? or we need to get it notarized.

Boy, that was 'some old post' you referred to. :)

Anyhow, I did get it notarized and because you have to (or at least had to at that time) submit an affidavit, which is but of course notarized, so it makes sense to get the translation document notarized at the same time as well.

okay, so the original, attested original, affidavit, is required right
