I am 39 years of age. My birth certificate is not in govt's record. Although I have'nt recieved the list of document to submit to cic but I want to know whether they require birth certificates of people of my age. Secondly if they require it than what procedure I must follow to produce proper document ?

One of my friend submitted an affidavit notorized by first class majistrate which was accepted.

Hi Rupeshhari,
Thanks for the only reply in the entire forum,
Well to get duplicate is not a problem any where until you have the records in the department. But in my case I never obtained the certificate as I never ever needed it. During those days birth certificates were not given importance.
Actually my friend had hired an immigration consultant who gave him this advice to get affidavit and it worked . I did not hire any immigration consultant but I will do the same as he did.
But I still want to share the experience of my friends in the forum.

ANY ONE ELSE WITH PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ?

At which CIC visa post you have applied from?

In different countries, CIC may accept different documentation.

In India for certain CHC New Delhi accepts 10th class certificate (as it mentions DOB) in lieu of birth certificate.

Zahir,

I just went through a similar process in India. It's a long drawn-out one. First you have to apply for NAC (non-availability certificate) stating the birth was not registered, and once you get that you have to apply with that for a birth certificate. The whole process took almost a year because there's lots of red-tapism involved. I guess registering a birth in India was made mandatory in 1968 or 1970. So, you may have a loophole there to get away with only the affidavit. Or you could choose to apply for a birth certificate now and get it. It'd be best to ask your village/town/city office where you were born/parents reside how to go about it.

HI Charmeuse,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am from Pakistan. If I apply now to get the birth certificate now after 39 years, although it won't take a week to get it but I have a doubt that it will not be written in the departments record in a proper way and if ever someone wants to trace the record, it won't be found .
So it is better to get the genuine affidavit of the birth certificate rather than to get an unauthentic and spurious piece of paper.
