Hi,
I'm from India and trying to get all the documents in place to create my Express Entry (EE) profile.
It suddenly dawns on me that my Birth Certificate (created way back on '89) is in a native Indian language (Marathi, to be precise).

My question is, do I need to get on created in English? (since I'm trying for a PR visa in English provinces only)
Or should I get it legally translated?

Really in confusion at this point of time. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! :)

The easier option is to get a reissued birth certificate from the municipality. It will be in English and Marathi and have the old issue date.

Hey, thanks for the prompt response!
I'll get one reissued.

However, I read somewhere that it is not a mandatory document. Is this true?
(The reason I'm asking this is because I have a LOT of documents to put in place :( )
Please excuse my ignorance of the process and document, I have just begun the journey :)

It's not mandatory for this application but there is no harm in keeping it. You may need it in future for other purposes
