Dear friends around,
My wife & my step daughter are living in Montreal, Quebec. My wife sponsors me to move to Canada.
All my paper works are done & now I am on the interview list.
In the announcement letter, the visa officer requests me to bring a notarized copy of my step daughter's birth certificate?
Any comment on that? Please advise me. Thank you.
By the way, I've noted that there many cases that they don't need to get interviews. Is it a bad sign that I have to attend an Interview?

Thanks

Re: Birth certificate for Sponsor's daughter (listing the parents' names)???????????

If they do not request an interview, this is usually a good sign that they believe the marriage is genuine. Processing times are then shorter. If they do request an interview, the most usual reason is they have questions about the genuineness of the marriage. Lots of people get the visa after an interview, so try not to worry too much. Maybe they felt you didn't provide enough evidence.

As for the birth certificate, who knows why they want it. Just get one and bring it.
