I can't remember while I took my biometric in the US if they actually check US status. Do you have a driver's license or passport? This will be used to match your names with the Biometric request letter.

thank you for your reply. I have an expired drivers license from 2016 and my passport from my country. My main question is if they want to know if you are currently legal in the US when you go for Canadian biometrics

I really don't think so, or I can't remember. They do need any identification to confirm your identity. Depending on what state you are in, you can head to any location on this link https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/usa/. They offer biometric if you are concern about your status in the US.
