Had my Biometrics request today and it would seem from the CIC website link on the form that the only place to get them done is at the VAC in Auckland? Surely this cannot be correct? We live in Christchurch and this would mean travelling up to the North island within the next 30 days? Anyone had them done anywhere else?

Not speaking from any NZ experience but this seems to be a common issue with the biometrics requirement in that IRCC have only contracted specific organisations without any regard for a countries geography , not unique to NZ.

If it were a simple case of photographs as before then would not have been an issue but now adding in fingerprints to equation .

Not sure you have any choice at this point in time unfortunately but to use the authorised visa centre.

Yes - unfortunately this is correct. Auckland is the only NZ location.

That's not very convenient, it would make sense to have somewhere in the South Island to get them done. It's like me having to fly from Calgary to Vancouver. Hopefully you can get a cheap flight up there. All the best!

Got a flight and the only appointment for the whole of April is a 9am one which means an overnight stay too would be cutting it too fine otherwise with potential flight delays etc. costing me 300 bucks so far... Canada better be worth it :)

It is! I miss the NZ beaches but Canada is a beautiful place to live.
