First, I'm a Canadian -4th generation.
Before I start with my question, let me apologize for my government. For those of you who have to deal with Canadian immigration, you have nothing but my full sympathy.
Personally, you should reconsider Canada. The grass is not greener in Canada. Canada has a lot of problems, and as immigrants you can expect low income jobs even though you have real skills.
At any rate...
So my wife is Korean and we live outside of Canada, and I've been trying to get her a PR Travel Document through the Manila office.
I won't go into the details of how utterly frustrating and painful it is to deal with the Manila office. But let's just say it's like pulling teeth.
And if you're applying for a PR Travel document, I would apply 3 to 4 months in advance to be safe, even though their website says processing time is 5 days.
At any rate, my questions are this:
My wife is Korean. She has PR status because she's lived with me outside of Canada.
1. Can she enter Canada without a PR Travel document?
South Koreans do not need Visa's to enter Canada.
2. Once she's in Canada (on a Tourist visa if not entering with a PR Travel Doc I assume???), could she then apply for a PR Card again?
Would it be as an initial or as a renewal in that case?
I'm so sick of death of the Manila office, I just don't want to deal with them anymore, so I want to skip the PR Travel document process all together if possible.
