BEWARE: Rejection - VISA OFFICE REQUESTED for the process of your application

to anyone who just filed their initial application to CIO...note that they are rejecting the whole application if you accidentally put Sydney Nova Scotia in the VISA OFFICE REQUESTED for the process of your application...(IMM 0008)

my friend just received her rejection letter after 60 days saying that

"You did nto indicate the visa office requested for the process of your application. Please note Sydney CIO is not a valid selection"

I am just blessed that my application proceeded when i submitted it last May though it contains "Sydney Nova Scotia" in the visa office requested tab..

i told my friend to resubmit everything again to CIO and just change that tab to "Manila, Philippines"

Oh God!!..i also got back d application with the same reply and my consultant gave me different rzn.

Now a week back i agn submitted the appl wid the same mistake (Putting Sydney NS Canada) whereas now reading yer post i blv it shud be new delhi, india...

Now plsss advice wt shud i do???

cant wait for another 60 days fr appl to come back n then resubmitting it.

Pls seniorss advice wt can be done now.
I resubmitted on 2ndSept thru speed post.

GRV...if it is still possible for you to get your application back do it....you will wait another 60 days.....this is a mistake i also did but mine was processed....but sadly my friend was then refused.....

I just tracked it thru india post and it shows the following thing:
2009/09/08 22:51 MISSISSAUGA International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs
Now is it possible to get it back???
oh man um getting into a state of panic..cant wait till tomorrow to go to post office and ask them to getit back bt i still doubt whether it can be done.
Aint there any other alternative like writing to CIO when they receive my appl. or calling them up etc etc????

actually i also dont know what to say....because there are so many mails coming to them..making a letter and sending to them is not a good option since your application was still on queue and most probably if they get the additional letter you sent..they might probably reject your application again because of that....

BTW, just a question...what did your consultant told you as the reason of rejection?

my friend told me that the CIO specifically highlighted the incorrect input in the form and mention in the appendix....my friend is qualified as per our checklist and all that....it just so happen that the CIO is very strict.....they should have accepted that....but sad to say....that is the first form.. and i thnk the officer did not bother to look at the other forms just because of that...."sigh"..sad...but we have to reapply...

Well my consultant told me that they(CIC) mistook My current Occupation(Business Analyst) as that i am applying for a business visa and so the application shudnt hav come to sydney ns.
Then we changed it to system analyst kindda thing and resubmitted it.
Now today when i saw yer post,,i was like oh goshh not again....

Anyone else seniors pls advice wt can be done next.....

Is there anyone who has done d same mistake of writing "Sydney NS canada" as the wnswer for Visa Office requested and still got the AOR.

Also, Pls advice guys what can be done in my case above..

GRV...as i mentioned....i had the same mistake and got the AOR.....i still sent the same to London when i submitted my full docs....my status is now "IN PROCESS"....

it depends on the visa officer if they will reject it outright or to consider..and i think this is not a major error...but for one visa officer it is...

Hey CPA2CANADA..well thx for the reply..i just wanted to know from others that how many of them have done the same mistake n still got the AOR, coz i cannot get the parcel back and dunno if sending an email to CIC now would be a good option.
