Hi guys!

Sending my outland PR off today! What's the best way to mail it?
Should I send it by next day delivery and get it signed for? Or should I just send it recorded delivery?

I want it there asap but was wondering if getting it signed for is a bad idea?

P.s. how do they know to send it to london? Do they know simply because I wrote london uk on my imm0008 fprm?

Use a courier service as much as possible, there are several reasons for this to be the desired method: it's generally faster, safer and you can most probably track the package to its destination using the provided tracking number.

As for the choice of visa office, CIC will determine which office should handle your file based on your own choice which you probably selected in IMM 0008 and/or CIC's own criteria.

If you ask for signature, you get a 50/50 that they WILL sign it. Ours was signed, but some people didn't get it signed.

What is a courier service? Is this different to canada post? Or can I get this done at london drugs?

Canada post is the best...economical and cheap...I spent $15 to send my application to NS and they gave me a name and signature of the person who received it...

FedEx, UPS, Purolator, they are all courier. And all expensive.

We used Canada Post. It was guaranteed three day arrival, but got there signed for in two.

I would suggest courier method. However, you need to mail it to the Robert Speck address if you want to get a signature. I definitely asked for a signature, it makes me feel better knowing someone physically had it in their hands.

I used Canada Post the first time (long-story), didn't work out, so I used UPS the second time, and I actually found them to be cheaper, and it arrived there faster!

From the UK I booked via p4u.co.uk and it was under £30 for 4kg parcel. They come and collect. There's a specific address for couriers so make sure you get that right. Don't have value higher than about $20 else it will get stuck and duty will be due to be paid on it while entering Canada.

I don't know if I can Ups it easily as I don't know where to go. And I want this gone today.

If I canada post it by next day delivery and request a signature I have to send it to a different address?

I guess courier is better but I've already spent so much on this app.

All i really want is to know that they receive it? Don't think I could deal with it getting lost or simply not knowing if they have it!

I believe all couriers are sent to a different address. The lady at Canada Post knew which address we needed. My husband didn't have to fill out anything.

This is just a small part of the money you will spend. You will have to spend money on travel after you get PR and if they request the passport to be sent in via mail, you'll have to pay that as well. Try not to focus on the money part, you'll drive yourself nuts.

I guess so. Sigh.

Is it ok to send it to canada post tho? And would I be able to track it?

If you send it by express post with Canada Post you can get a tracking number and will be able to post it. You can send it with or without a signature request upon Delivery. Expresspost is cheaper than FedEX, UPS etc.
