Hey all,

Well I got my PPR by email!! It has enclosed instructions for mailing 2 pictures, a form and my passport.

I went through the Detroit office and they only way they will courier it back to me is if I enclose a self address/pre paid Fed ex envelope. No problems there. But what is the best way of mailing the passport to them? Should I mail through fedex or use Canada Post? I have no experience with Fedex but have had not so good times with Canada Post. Obviously I want to make sure it gets to them so what is the best way of mailing it?

Question 2 is about landing, where can I find information about where I can go to 'land' in Canada? Can I do it at any US/Canada border or do I need a specific one?

Thank You :)

I would advice you to do FedEx. I've heard a lot of horror stories about Canada Post and I would not risk giving them my passport.

If you are in Canada, you can open an account with FedEx. You can send your passport and get it back again using your FedEx account. You just need a credit card.

Yes you can go to the border closest your area and do your landing there.

Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks for the help.

I am wondering about my SIN card, Is there a stage during landing which I would apply for this or is there some way after landing I am expected to apply for it?

After you have "landed" go to the nearest Service Canada Center in your area. You'll be given your SIN number and they'll mail you your card in two weeks(?).

You apply for a SIN card after you land. You'll need to bring your COPR. Information on applying for a SIN card is here: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sin/apply/how.shtml

For the nearest Service Canada Center in your area:
