Best way to get PR?

Hello,

I'm an international student at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Sauder School of Business. I've been studying in BC for the past 5 years. I came to Canada in 2013 and will be graduating this December 2018. I really want to get PR as soon as possible but I'm really confused on what I should do and where I should go for information.

I've heard that the only way for me to get PR is to do it provincially, whereby I'll have to stay in BC for another year and go through BCPNP picking me. I'll have to get a work permit with my letter of completion and work full time for a year to which I can apply for PR.

I've also heard that I can do it federally whereby I get a work permit with my letter of completion and work anywhere in Canada for a year and then apply for PR.

Personally, I really want to move to Toronto for work as it will be the best thing for my career. Staying in BC for another year will surely be a career set back for me. What can I do? What do you think the best option is for me? Am I missing anything?

Looking forward to responses. Best wishes.

You can apply for a open work after you graduate. Depending on the length of your study program, you'll probably get a 3 year work permit.

The best option to apply for PR in your case is CEC under Expres Entry which is a federal program. You can start doing your research here.

Post your questions in Express Entry sub forum. There're way more active discussions there.

Or you can go through the skilled immigration under BCPNP. However these are paper based applications and will take much longer than EE
