Hi, I am looking into the process of applying for my work visa. I've been visiting BC for a few weeks while I secured a job offer with an approved LMIA employer. Looking at the next step, I've seen that there are three ways to apply, from inside or outside of Canada, and at the port of entry. Port of entry looks the easiest and since I don't need a visitor visa as an American, I'm inclined to apply there. But it seems that a lot of websites say the application process can take months. So will I not be allowed to enter the country at the port of entry when I apply? Or should I apply from inside or outside Canada instead? Thanks

In the other reply you had to a posting last year, the LMIA process for foreigners was explained . Did your potential employer go thru that process with ESDC ?

They are going through the process of getting an approved LMIA yes, I am in a high need job in this area.

So they are in the process , has it been approved yet ? Approval of a LMIA does not ensure a TFW will get a work permit issued
Those things can take months to process to ensure no Canadian/PR is available to perform the work before a foreigner

Fastest / easiest is to apply at the border once the LMIA is approved.
