Good afternoon,
Looking some advice. My partner and I are very interested in immigrating to Canada. I have a few questions please.
1 - I am expecting our first child in February 2019. Would we be best to wait until after the birth to apply.
3 - Should we look at getting a representative? I was thinkig of this route as they would know all the different options is being about to immigrate with out situation.
2 - When doing the express entry it says we do not meet the requirements. Neither of us have done the language tests yet. Do we need to pay out to have these done before seeing if we meet the criteria?
3 - when checking our NOC codes, I fall into 0 and my partner into C. My partner is a HGV driver and I working as a complaints manager in telecommunications.
4 - are we better off trying to get a job offer then applying for express entry?

Any advise and help is very much appreciated.

Many thanks
M

Hello M
- you can look at the reply I just posted for Carlos: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...-board/threads/query-on-express-entry.573105/
- you can, but they cost money and you still need to get them the documents and information. I would suggest if you have time and patience use this forum and DIY(Do It Yourself). Check your score here: https://www.canadavisa.com/assess/canada-immigration-assessment-form.htm to know where you stand.
-Before you fill out your official profile you should give your language test and get the results. If you have proficiency in French language, I would suggest you to appear for the French test(as a second language) as well(in case your overall score is not enough). Also your education degrees should be assessed if they are Non Canadian ones. There are few agencies who do that....WES, ICES, IQAS, you have to check there websites, just google.
-I guess you should be the primary applicant. If you are based out of Canada your partner foreign work experience will not anyhow count.
-You can try, but jobs in Canada are a though one to get because of Labour Market approvals.

First thing first check your Minimum Entry Criteria(MEC) if you qualify:

1. Doesn’t really matter. Depends on your own priorities I guess. Depending on where you settle in Canada you could even get free healthcare right after landing.
3 (?) - Representatives don’t add special value if your case is straight-forward, and yours looks like it is. Might take a bit of extra work if you are common law bt nothing insurmountable even if you DIY.
2. It’s because you haven’t done the language tests and/or ECAs. Yes you have to pay and complete those to have valid Express Entry profiles.
3. Double-check if you are really a 0 or if you could fit into a NOC A. They are more thorough when going through NOC 0 job descriptions. Choose 0 if you really are a senior manager or if you manage a team. I’ve seen several rejections for applicants claiming to be NOC 0.
4. No, as previously stated.
