Im just wondering if anyone has a similar situation here.
I applied and being sponsored Inland by my husband but my daughter is in the Philippines as my dependent. Does she get her PR in Manila? Does she send her passport and medicals in Manila or here in Canada where the application was filed? Thanks, any info will be appreciated.

1. Yes everything for her will be done in Manila.
2. She will not receive her visa until you "land"

What does it mean when you say "land" ? Is it when I get my PR? I filed inland and here in Toronto.

Yes, since you're app is "inland", either by 'landing appointment' or by 'flagpoling' (driving to the nearest US border and entering Canada without officially entering the US).

Do I need to get a US tourist visa to do this?

Inland can only land at their landing appointment, that's when they receive COPR. Outland can flagpole as the COPR is mailed to them.

Flagpoling does not require a US visa, as you simply declare you are flagpoling, they give you a little paper and send you back on your merry way to the Canada side to do the formalities (note that I have not done this myself, but based on the experiences of others.)

I live in Toronto, so I assume I land in Niagara Falls border?

No, since you applied Inland, when your application is approved you'll need to wait for CIC to schedule a landing interview with you at one of their Toronto office locations. I've heard it can take anywhere from a few weeks to few months to get this appointment.

Ah yes, of course. My post stands corrected on the 'flagpoling' point.
