What is the impact of paying Canadian income taxes as a permanent resident in regard to qualifying for Canadian citizenship? If, for instance, I were to pay Canadian income taxes for four consecutive years (even if I were not fully resident during that time), would I likely qualify for citizenship? When?

If you're physically present in Canda more than 183 days each year, you must file a tax return. Presumably there would be some taxes to pay. But even if you're exempted from taxes by a tax treaty, this would have no effect on citizenship aspirations.
