Bedroom pictures ! Stupid or good idea?

Although if the thought of a randomstranger getting hot and bothered by your pics bugs you, avoid this!

We did send in a picture of us kissing (in a public place so it was a little smooch) only because we have a total of five pictures outside the wedding. Haha!

I don't think this would be a good idea. You have no idea what kind of principles the VO will have or whether they are conservative or liberal. You may get someone on their bad day and who wants to give them any grounds for visa denial?!? Tell your friend not to risk. If they have the x-rated they will have enough of what is acceptable to all (I hope so anyway). Plus photos with family and friends show a better connection.

Alternatively he/she could play dare devil and see what happens (and pray do tell)!!

I've got to agree with the majority here that it would be a bad idea. Bedroom pics really prove nothing. There are a lot of horn-dogs who move from woman to woman, but it doesn't really show any kind of devotion.
I know they ask for proofs of intimacy, .. but I don't think that's what they were meaning. ;D
I have to admit even one of my e-mails my wife wanted to submit (and eventually talked me into letting her) I think was more than what they were expecting.

Maybe some officers will be fine with bedroom pics and even get a smile from them, ... if it's a very moral minded officer, it may turn them negative against the clients right off the bat. It's not a chance I'd be willing to take.

The closest to scandalous our pics were was of us trying to kiss each other while on vacation and the picture immediately after of us laughing at how stupid it looked because it's hard to kiss and take a picture at the same time.

I would avoid to send too intimate pictures for the reasons already expressed by others here.
In our case we have many on which we kiss but we did not feel like sending them, we were hugging or cuddling on some of them however.
What is more important I guess are pictures that support the story like: wedding, various visits and travelling where both the sponsor and the applicant can be seen and the presence of other family member and friends on them.
We included pictures of each of our little excursions where you could tell exactly where we had been like Montreal Jazz fest etc...

If I were a VO and I received semi nude pics of a sponsors wife....it would be immediate refusal.

My reason:
I love my wife very much, and while I believe she's the most beautiful on earth, I also believe that many will be checking her out from time to time...however....I would not be the instigator of that, nor would I promote it for display!

How many times have you heard a buddy in a genuine marriage say...hey man, check out these naked pics of my wife...certainly not if the marriage is genuine....maybe for F-buddies....but not for wives!

I like your reasoning quite well.

I think you should also consider your VO. Some are in very conservative countries where even viewing another man's wife naked is taboo or a crime.

I don't think sending in bedroom pictures is necessary, and I think sending in photos that are too explicit is a mistake, but this thread did remind me that both the visa officer and my lawyer seemed to be looking for more than just 'family friendly' photos. My lawyer for the appeal did ask me if my husband and I had any 'romantic' photos. One of the reasons the visa officer rejected my husband's application is because she said none of our photos were romantic.
Now I am not comfortable getting my photo taken while being romantic, in any sense of the word. I would be embarrassed to have my picture taken while kissing or cuddling with my husband, for example, never mind anything more.
The lawyer gave as an example of a good romantic photo one where the wife was sitting on the husband's lap, maybe at a party. She certainly did not suggest sending in explicit photos. But I think maybe photos where the couple is kissing, hugging, or something inoffensive along those lines would be a good idea.

This would only be where such photos are acceptable to the couple and in their culture. I wouldn't stage anything just for the vo, but if you have some, a few included in the application might help.

well it was only one pic out of about a hundred -_- and i airbrushed out what i felt to airbrush as i stated (semi)....PLUS hubby didnt even know what i had included in the package heh heh heh...but once i told him, and he saw what pic i was talking all he could say is 'yuh nuh ez ' LMAO

I do have to say I'm loving all the feed back in here... And to think my biggest problem was finding pictures with the two of us in them together when you have three kids there are very few times that you get a full family picture... I seem to be behind the camera most of the time. I even wrote in my letter as proof of our relationship how I didn't know what exactly they were looking for but if they wanted proof of our real and ongoing relationship that I might just have to take a picture of the box of cereal that our kids dumped on the floor and then one of me crying because I'm at my wits end and then one of my husband vacuuming the floor when he got home from work.... forget the sex... that really is just a part of a genuine relationship and I wanted to show a full relationship not just the part we try to keep going without our kids knowing...lol

A friend of mine is about to sponsor his wife ? He asked me weathere include bedroom pictures or not ? He refused to show me the pics as he claimed they are kinda x- rated...i believe he is doing a stupid thing..it might be offenSive to the vo....any input?

Are you serious? If this had been the requirement for spousal sponsorship, I would never have applied...

I think such pictures are only for the couple and no one else. Me as wife, i would be extremely mad at my husband if he would send or show such pics to anyone! I think there are better proves for a real relationship than that as some here already mentioned and it proves actually nothing really. Plus as another said it could offend people/VO officers, they might even take this totally wrong and not even serious. The application should be in a serious, adult-like manner, theres no room for such things!! We send not one pic of us kissing even but we had some nice or romantic pics hugging each other and such. Hard to believe someone considers even to send such pics to immigration or as a serious proof of their relationship....

Sending x-rated pics to the VO is the exact opposite of intimacy. If anything, it shows a lack of respect for your relationship and each other and increases your chances of being labelled not genuine.


I do agree that there's an expectation of romantic pics, but that's a far cry from explicit. To those who got away with it, instead of advising others that it helped you, did you ever consider that maybe you were approved IN SPITE of them vs BECAUSE of them? That maybe the VO was totally turned off, but then came around because that reason alone wasn't strong enough basis for rejection?
