Hi all, I have heard that it is possible to become a PR if someone buys an apartment in Toronto. I would appreciate it if anyone who has info about this shares it in here. Thanks a lot!

People say some very wrong things about immigration but that has to be one of the most ridiculous I've ever heard.

No, buying a property in Toronto will not allow you to become a PR.

This ranks alongside people who think buying a Canadian business gives them automatic work or residency rights which of course does not.

Not possible.

If it was that easy - everyone would be a PR.

This is not that ridiculous. It works in some European countries. Not in Canada of cause.

Well, business immigration program still exists, although frozen.

There are various investor programs still going, PNP's and Quebec. Requirements vary but it's usually about investing x amount of money by the province or in a business. You may have to show business experience and/or have a business plan.

agreed but i was thinking of people just buying a business outside of any immigration program and thinking it automatically gave them some rights to live in the country and work in that business. This was off topic anyway and am sure plenty of other crazy ideas people try to get around the system.
