Hi guys,

I'm looking way ahead here, but my wife's wondering about this and so am I. It is said that once you become a Permanent Resident, you must live in Canada for at least 2 years within a 5 year period. Does this mean continuously for 2 years? Or accumulated days that sum up to 2 years within the 5 year period?

Hope it doesn't sound like a silly question. :)

Thanks!! :)

Thanks for the response nicholas30. That's what I thought so, too. Just wanted to make sure. :)

Note that if your wife is a Canadian citizen, then days spent living together with her (at the same address) outside Canada also count towards maintaining your residency obligation.
