I am an international student from Taiwan who graduated in October 2014 with an undergraduate economics degree from SFU.

I initially wanted to go to graduate school, but I didn't have enough funds even though I was accepted to all the schools that I applied to.

I quickly changed my direction and am currently self studying web development and working as a freelance web developer. I hope to obtain a permanent, full-time web developer position.

Does this type of job allow me to file for Canadian permanent residency using the BC Provincial Nominee Program's International Graduate Stream?

I know that obviously, web development and my undergraduate economics education are not really related.

Doesnt have to be related. As long as NOC type is 0, A, B.

You have to apply within 2 years of graduation, you have a little time to get ITA and submit application for this stream. Otherwise you have to apply skilled workers stream which requires higher points to get ITA.

I really want to stay in Canada permanently.

Should I find a semi-skilled job and an employer willing to help me with my PR application under the BC PNP stream?
