Hi Guys, I couldn't find anything on here about medical in BC once you have PR. I'm just thinking ahead for my mum, I understand the 3 month stand down will apply to all new PR's (seems odd to me, the logic doesn't make sense, why would we wait 5 years for our parents PR for them to come here just for medical treatment??? idiots) Anyway, what I'm wondering is, if anyone knows, I noticed on the website it said for a sponsored person to receive a lower rate then the sponsor has to fill out the financial evaluation form, I'm of course in the top bracket and pay $75 a month for me, so will have to pay $75 a month for my mum too I'm assuming, although she will likely not have an income, or will have a low income from part time work if she can get it (she's only in her early 60's...),
I guess my question is, does anyone have experience with the parents MSP in BC? and if so, is the amount they pay based on us the sponsors income, and not their income? If this is so, it really is a another reason to explore living in a different part of Canada to BC.... the MSP is ridiculously expensive as it is!
Thanks!
