Bank Codes or BSB

Hi,

I am from outside of Canada and I am planning on transferring money to my grandmother over there.

1. Where I am from, we use BSB (branch number) to identify the specific branch. In Canada, do they use BSB as well? Or do they call it 'bank code'?


2. How many digits are the BSB or 'bank code'? She told me hers was 306 but to me, that is a really short number.
