Bank account in canada before landing

Hi, can we make a bank account in canada before landing using our uci number.

You can but it won't be activated till you show your copr. Easier to just go to a branch here, will take hardly 15 min.

So i cant transfer amount from my country to that account before hand. I dont wanna carry alot of cash

I just carried a draft cheque in my name in canadian dollars. Your bank in home country can do that. Deposit it when you open an account here.

You can open an account beforehand but they won't take your UCI number. You'll need to at least have a temporary visa.
