I know that the sponsor needs to show a bank statement for proof that sponsor has sufficient funds (exactly how much is not clear to me, if any) but I was wondering if they will also do an in-depth check in any other bank accounts on name of sponsor or sponsored spouse. Reason asking is that I can't get out of a contract that will cost me a substantial amount of money and it may evolve into a debt. I don't think company will try to go overseas to sue me (i don't think it will be worth the money for them) But if this may negatively impact visa application, I will just have to cough up money I guess..
