Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone here had a similar experience with their inland asylum claim in Canada.

I applied in April 2025. In October 2025, I was put in the less-complex stream and they asked for additional evidence/documents, and my lawyer said that was a positive sign and that I might even get accepted without a hearing.

However, since then, nothing has moved because my security/background check is still pending. It has been around 7 months now with no updates.

Did anyone go through something similar? Is there any way to help speed up the security check process or at least push the file forward a bit? For example:

  • contacting IRCC,
  • sending webforms,
  • or anything else that actually helped?

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you

You are experiencing normal wait times. You are in a very long queue. Nothing moves quickly when it comes to asylum these days. All you can do is wait.
