Background check for Sponsorship outside Canada

Hello Everyone:

My spouse has oversea (Canadian) background. So the HK VO started his BG check before sending the Pre-arrival service, is that correct?
And how long the BG check will take and what is the BG check especially looking for?
After BG check, should we receive Pre-arrival service letter?

Background check is usually done for Sponsored person. And as far as Sponsor they might check Criminal background if he/she is eligible; but that part had to be done initial stage before SA [Sponsor's Approval]

I don't what you mean. My eligibility has been already approved. Now the case is forwarded to HK local office and they are processing the background check.

Background Checks: It will take anywhere from 1 month to more. It depends applicant's other visits to other countries which were more than 6 months, so they have to have security clearance from all countries. If she did not ever go out of homeland then will be faster.

I guess thats the way they do ,if they already have the passport, no other issues.
