Pre-Assessed..
Hi, I sent my my background information to the cjis back in August. I was looking through all the paperwork and such just to make sure I have done everything correctly when I noticed that certain forms say "You and each of your family members 18 years of age or over, whether accompanying you to Canada or not, must complete their own copy of this form." Now I am panicing because I have only been doing certain things for myself. I was wondering if this included my dad? I'm an only child with one parent and no kids of my own.

Anything anyone can tell me on this would be helpful. I always assumed it mean't children, but I guess I was mistaken? I don't know please help.

Your first inclination was right. If you read the instructions on the website, it means spouses and children. I remember reading this. Give me an example of the form you found it on and I can find a reference for you from the CIC site.

Your family members on your PR application are yourself, your spouse (if you have one) and your children (if you have any). Parents and siblings will be listed on the additional family information form only and they do not need to fill out any forms.

In Canada, if you are 18 years or older, your family means your immediate family- spouse and kids. Got nothing to do with your mom or dad or aunt or uncle.

Awesome! I'm so glad I was right. I sent for my fbi clearence paperwork out back in august and I'm still waiting for that, but when i saw that thing for anyone over 18 i was like 'oh crap, I hope that didn't mean my dad too.'So I guess the only things he needs to do is anything expressly saying father?

I think the only place you need to list unaccompaning parents and siblings is on the "Additional Family Information" from
