My husband called the Sao Paulo VO and inquired about the status of our file because of a passport issue that will affect us very soon (Nigeria will no longer be using the old style passports and only the new machine-readable ones will be useful for travel after Dec 31).
He was told that everything looked good, they were just waiting for the final word from Canada. I thought they were waiting on the other countries, as the last time we spoke to them they just said they were completing the background checking. Does this mean the background checking is completed or is there more that happens within Canada before the visa is issued? Anyone?
