I want to know how can I get babys passport made in Canada if IM in pakistan wth the baby.. I got my PR VISA but cant travel as my baby has no pp ..

How long does the citizenship certificate takes in canada...n whts the process for pp??

If your baby's father is a Canadian citizen you can apply to the Canadian embassy in Islamabad for the passport.

yes he is..
but CHC ISLAMABAD takes 2-3 months just for pp.. n citizenship card is 12-18months..
how wil i travel to Canada then?

You apply for the proof of citizenship and if the child is under 2 years old, you can apply for a limited validity passport at THE SAME TIME. If the child is over 2 you apply for a F1 Facilitation passport for his/her Pakistan passport if you have proof of immediate travel.

The baby is under 2 years of age. So follow PMM's instructions for children under 2. Passports are a different service from visas. Not in the same processing stream or subject to the same wait times as visas.

N since my visa office will b islamabad wont they take longer to even issue the passport??
also for which date should I book the ticket for me n the baby to show islamabad..
I want to travel back to Canada asap. cuz I dont ve any family here..as Im takin care of my child alone

Read PMM's reply again. He says facilitation visa is only needed if child is older than 2 years. Your child is younger than 2 years so you do not need it. You should apply for this in Islamabad. The sooner you apply, the sooner you will get it.

The timeline to get the citizenship certificate is not 12-18 months in most cases. We were told the same thing, but 3 months later we had it. The passport took 1 month, but that was only because we didn't have a guarantor. If you have a guarantor, it only takes a couple of weeks.

For the citizenship certificate, it's not Islamabad that processes it, so I don't understand why you say it's so slow. The application is sent to Nova Scotia for processing. As for the passport, I think it's the same thing...they are not processed at the Embassy...but I might be wrong.

You're looking at a total time of approximately 4 months for the citizenship cert and passport. But like PMM said, you can get a passport for children under 2 in a very short time as long as you have proof of travel (i.e. airline tickets).

You can not guarantee that another persons process will be as fast as yours, especially if they are applying through a different visa office but even if it is the same one, every case is different. The official processing time for a citizenship certificate can be seen here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/certif-processing.asp and it is now 5 months for 80% of cases if applied for in Canada and they say to add 3-4 months when applying through a visa office. Islamabad is a notoriously slow visa office.
