My husband is landing next week (yeah!!!). My question: We both live in the US and I will be coming up with him but I am not actually landing until August when I come with our car.
Can I make 2 B4 forms (1 for him and 1 for me when I come)?

I am getting a little confused and want to make sure that I am doing this right.

Also, I know that I have seen this question before but want to double check. Can I list my "stuff" as follows:
Box #1 - Clothes
Box #2 - Tools (which includes drill S/N ___)

Do I need to list everything or can I make it general?
It is tough because even though I am coming with him now I am not moving our stuff until August.
Thanks for any help!

You might be wise to come prepared to "land" with your husband -- if that what the border officers advise. For that you need the B4 and the B4A from here: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/menu-eng.html .

One is for goods you are bringing with you when you land; the other is for goods to follow later.

I don't think you need to declare every little item in a box of assorted goods. Major items, yes; assorted tools and clothing, no. Just say what you plan to say. If the tools look used, no problem.

Any major items, though, should be described specifically. With jewelry especially, where there are no serial numbers, take photos to identify them.

Thanks. That really helps. I knew the forms but I was unsure if I should do my form now or later. We have a weird situation since I am not already in Canada.
