The person I will be taking care of in Canada just passed away while I am still waiting for my visa here in the Philippines which I applied for a few weeks ago already. Once I get my visa, am I still allowed to go to Canada on the live in caregiver program? My employer has not informed immigration yet and I know I would have to find another employer when I get there. Thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure about this but I read in another thread that the live-in caregiver visa/ work permits are employer-specific. You may have to confirm with your immigration consultant (or employer)/ IRCC about that. You may need to find another employer then reapply for the visa. Good luck, kabayan!

The work permit you have now only allows you to work for the employer who originally hired you. If you want to work for a different employer, you'll need to obtain a new work permit (and before you can do that, your new employer will need to obtain an approved LMIA).
