AVR-reentry with new passport/expired visa/i797A approval

Hello,
I have a i797A approval with i94 validity until 2025 but do not have a valid visa stamp. My passport has expired and have new passport number (filed after receiving I797A), can I travel to Canada and enter US using AVR?
