AUTOMATIC WORK PERMIT AT THE PORT OF ENTRY

Do you guys know that from JUNE/2014 international students will be given work permits at the port of entry??????This will allow them to work 20 hrs during school days and full time during breaks....

This is contrary to earlier one where you have to apply for OCWP..

VERY VERY GOOD NEWS....

What am not sure of is about the students who came much earlier.....Research and shed more light on this

No they won't. International students entering Canada on or after june 1st will receive a study permit only. NOT a work permit. However, the study permit authorizes students to work without a work permit.

This will allow them to work 20 hrs during school days and full time during breaks....

Wrong again. Students will be allowed to work 20 hrs per week during semesters and full time during scheduled breaks.

This is contrary to earlier one where you have to apply for OCWP.

So far the new rules effect those coming in on june 1st or after. How the new rules effect current students, nobody knows.
