Hi everyone, I have a question about the authorized stay for visitor. My mom came visit me last Nov 2015. She got a stamp on her passport at airport with a hand written date of May 14,2016. We went to Jamaica for vacation for a week in Feb, 2016. When we returned, she got a new stamp on Feb 16,2016, but not hand writing date. I now want her to stay with us for the summer. Is her new expiration date 6 months from Feb 16, 2016? Or still stay as May 14, 2016. I don't know if I should extend her visa. Does anyone have experience like this?
I read earlier post from this forum and learnt the old authorized stay period expired at the time you left Canada. If someone shortly returned (still within her previous authorized stay expiration date), how to count the authorized stay period? Thanks.

That.

Thanks Jalex23! So we could just go with the latest entry date Feb 16, 2016 and count 6 months from that date, right? This would be great, this will cover the summer(mainly) and we don't need to apply for the extension. You know I called CIC help center, they told me the expiration date stays as May 2016, but I don't really believe it.
