Hi,
Me and my wife have a valid work permit and my 3year kid is on dependent visitor visa. We want to go india for some family reasons. I applied for authorisation letter for my kid. So the reply came is ' you have indicated that you are currently in Canada. Therefore, we are unable to process your request for an exemption to the Canadian travel restrictions. Please re-submit your request once you require re-entry to Canada. An officer will assess if you qualify for an exemption at that time.
I want to know if anyone have a similiar situation and they got authorisation letter. Should we take risk of going india without letter?

As you stated, you guys are in Canada right now, so you can't apply for authorisation before you leave the country. Once you leave, you can apply for it before you plan to return to Canada and in my personal view, if you can prove essential reason for coming back to Canada, your son would also get authorisation because he/she is dependent on you guys.

You would not get any authorisation letter before leaving the country. Therefore, if you want to travel, you would have to leave without it.

I hope it helps.

Are you both working because you will likely be asked for proof of current employment to return to Canada. If you are both employed then your child should get approved.
