Australian applying for PR - couple of questions!

Hi there,

I've been in Canada on work permits since June 2009 and am now applying for PR, CEC. I have a son born here in 2011 so he is a citizen and my common-law partner is a PR.

I filled out the IMM0008 Generic Form and listed my son as a dependent. I now see that I don't need to have put him on it, just the Additional Family Form (which I have). Should I re-do that form or just send it in as is? He is listed as a Canadian citizen on it anyway.

Also, should I request the Sydney, Australia immigration office or is there one in Canada I should be choosing since I've been living here a while?

And finally, I only need a general police check certificate from Australia right? There is no mention of fingerprints on their link cic.gc.ca /english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/australia.asp "Applicants must provide a Standard Disclosure – name check. Certificates can be obtained through the Australian Federal Police."

If they want fingerprints they'll just ask?

If you've been legally admitted to Canada for at least 1 year, you may select CPP-O (Ottawa). You also have the choice to select a visa office in Australia, but note that if you do and there is an interview, you have to travel for it.

You need police clearance certificates for all countries(other than Canada) that you've lived in for 6 consecutive months within CIC's specified period. They will ask for fingerprints if needed.

Don't know about the first question(re:dependants). Sorry.

Help needed to obtain PCC from australia - standard disclosure

Hi guys,

I need to provide PCC from Australia which says "Standard Disclosure". I have applied through AFP site before and they send me a "Complete Disclosure" certificate which is not accepted by CIC.

Can someone help me on how to apply for a certificate which will say "standard disclosure"

It's the one that cost about 42$ aud. it's the national police check and that's the one you need. It will ask why you want it and you can select for immigration/citizenship. HTH
