The step-step by process which can help you prepare for immigration to Australia as a skilled worker are given below
- Identify your occupation - Check whether your occupation is listed in one of the lists given below

Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL) - https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/CSOL
- Identify the applicable Visa for PR - There are three visa class for points-tested skilled migration
Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)
Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)
- Check your eligibility - Check your score using this calculator. You need a minimum of 60 points to be eligible. https://www.acacia-au.com/skilled-migration-points-test.php
- Complete IELTS - You need a minimum of 7 in each band (LRWS). You can get IELTS done either from British Council or IDP. Please ensure to select General Training for the test module.
- Get your skills assessed by relevant authority - There are different authorities approved by DIBP for skills assessment which includes VETASSES, AIM, ACS etc.
- Submit an EOI - An EOI is an indication that you would like to be considered for a skilled visa. An EOI is not a visa application.
