HAA, You are right on point. Slip of keyboard. In fact, Immigration refused to renew my passport in December that I should wait till January when it will be 6 months to expiry. I went two weeks ago and have since renewed it and collected it within one week.

Will Immigration agree to renew my Passport now? Mine & the rest members of my family will expire on 19th August, 2014. Will they accept to renew them now or I must wait until 19th February, 2014?

You will have to wait till 19th of February when it's 6months to expiration or they will advice you to go to abuja for renewal.

No issues - pls go ahead. Sept 2015 is still a long way to go with 19 months time span.

Arese, you can use even one month to expiry passport for Medical. It is PPR time that you need to have a passport that is valid for at least 12 months. Please go ahead with your Medical very fast. Besides, Immigration will not issue you a replacement passport for one that has expiry date that is more than 1 year.

Beautiful day it was yesterday. We had the immigration medical exams carried out & sent a reply to AVO.

Look forward to a favorable, prompt & timely response.

Hello forumites, I need advise and guidance on a particular issue. I applied for FSW in August 2011 and got PER in November 2011. Just because of the delay I loosed interest and didn't bother to follow up on my application. In February 2012 I had my first child who was not included in the application cos she was not born then. Because of my loss of interest in the whole stuff I did not bother to inform CIC and update my status.
In January 2014, I got MR for me and my spouse. Now the big question is can I still add my daughter in the application at this level? Does it have any implications if I decide not to include her since we have gone this far? Will including her delay my application?
I am honestly thinking of not including her because of the likelihood of more delays and because she is an American Citizen that will not require Visa to travel to Canada should in case we want her to travel with us to Canada.
Please help with your views. cheers

Dear Ojoalex, let me firstly welcome you to this great forum.

My time line & yours are pretty close, with one month in between.

My advice to you is that you should include your daughter in the application, even though belated.

I believe you would rather have your daughter as a "permanent resident" like you, than as a "visitor"?

Also, the anticipated delay might not be as bad as you envisage since you recently got MR.

I remember a fellow forum member that had to include his wife after a long wait. They got their application processed quite fast & have since moved on.

Do stay optimistic about this project & let the wait NOT wear you out.

Pls stay focused & Keep your eyes fixed on the vision.

Hello Ojolex, like Arese told you, please proceed with the addition without further delay. Yes you are right that she would be able to travel to Canada but she will not have status and i guess you understand what that means. Two of my daughters holds US Citizenship but they were included in my application and they were issued their PR Visa along side the rest of the family. Why go for very good when excellent is possible ;D Hope this helps.

Dear Ojoalex, sorry for the delay in reply. Its been a busy weekend. Here are the requirements:

1. Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008]
2. Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669]
3. Additional Family Information [IMM 5406]
4. Notorized copy of Birth Certificate
5. Notorized copy of International Passport
6. 6 copies of CIC specified passport photograph for the baby ( Names written behind them)
7. A covering letter stating the specific change that occur in the family
8. $150.00 CAD bank draft ( Write the name of the baby, the P/A UCI & Application No writen at the back)

With all these, you are good to go.

I would advice that you send AVO a mail/CSE immediately. It is at their reply that you would forward the documents listed above. I believe this would make their response faster.
