You will get interview 1-2 months before the due date and if everything is good you will get oath before due date as well.
Oh no, I can't believe a simple citizenship application is going to take more than a year! I applied on August 1st.
I still don't understand why the interview is needed when my background is marked as complete and my LPP has not even started yet. Based on what they decided that I need an interview?

It takes time because IRCC is one of the worst agencies of Canadian government.

Maybe they want to verify your English, what proof did you submit for language?

Just saw the update on the tracker! I am elated :) So here is my consolidated timeline until LPP

Application Submitted: 21st Aug (1470 days)
AOR: 23rd Oct
Background Completed: 30th Oct
Test invite : Dec 29 (test window : Jan 2 - Jan 31) team 3
Test taken: January 5, 2026
Test completed: January 7, 2026
LPP completed: Feb 4 (completed on portal on Feb 2)
Location: St Catherines, ON
Citizenship Ceremony: Not started

LPP completed for over 40 days now, and no updates! Refreshing the tracker multiple times is getting frustrating! :/

I Studied in Canada, so I submitted my official transcripts and diploma.
I travelled a few times during my eligibility period, but it was overall around 40 days, and I left about 2 weeks buffer before I submit my citizenship application. May be they want to confirm my departure and arrival dates.

trust me there is no reason. It's a random process. If you get a lazy officer working on your case, they would put whatever the date the are legally able, so then they can take as much time as it is possible. It is a psyop thinking that there is an actual complicated process that takes some unknown to the world actions, which are helping them to determine if you illegible. The whole process is simple, they run your name and DoB against all of the data bases and maybe call or email a few places to confirm things you claimed in your application. No intricacies, no woodoo magic, just simple human labor

That’s true. I guess it’s my special kind of luck, almost every single application I’ve had with IRCC over the past 7 years has come with its own little surprise!

A buffer of two weeks is too short. You basically force them to look closely to make sure that you haven't made a mistake in your travel dates. The rules are simple, if your physical presence is 1094 days you are not eligible, application is rejected and you have to start again.

There are many discussions about this in the forum advising to have at least 30 days extra, maybe even 60. Simply waiting a couple of more weeks before submitting could have saved you from all this. Now all you can do is wait.

another psyop. i saw lots of people with 1096 or 1100 days and they still got their things processed quickly. I personally had close to 1 month of a buffer, still stuck... some people applied in october with 3 days buffer and got their passports out already

My physical presence was 1110 days on the day I applied, so technically I met the requirement. But anyway, according to the GCMS notes, unfortunately they haven’t even started reviewing my LPP yet.
