I did the test in under 5 minutes and got 19/20.

My strategy:
- Read the whole "Discover Canada"
- Attempted to read the summary of that book (then dropped halfway)
- Studied the "Canada" app, and took 7 practice tests there
- Checked the Youtube video (414 questions) but it was too long so I only did 6 questions there.

My takeaways:

- The Canada app only is more than enough to prepare for the test! I highly recommend it! It is very clear, organized and easy to follow.

One small problem: Towards the end of the test, one of my TV lights suddenly shut down so my video was a bit darker : (((( I hope it was okay!!!!
Congratulations.. yes, no one cares about amount of light on your face, as long as it was not stark dark :)

Completed the test today and got 20/20. I was lucky and had no questions about dates - that always got me mixed up during practice tests!

For those wondering, I used the following website for practice

https://www.becitizen.ca/citizenship-test/practice

I paid for the 1 week of access and started studying on Wednesday. I read over the offical study guide/booklet once and then just constantly did all 20 practice tests over and over and over again. Definitely has enough information in the practice tests to cover the real test questions.

AOR Oct 22nd and Background completed on Oct 28th. No update till then and no test invite yet. Anyone facing similar situation and should I be worried since people with similar and later AOR are completing their tests now.

I submitted my application on August 25th and received my AOR letter on October 30th. I had some issues initially logging into the tracker but I've been able to now for a while. My tracker status says in process and last update was November 1st. My background check still says in process in the tracker. I've received no emails or other notifications since my AOR. Do they send emails when the background check is complete or does the status just change in the tracker? Should I reach out to IRCC at this point?

They don’t send emails you check daily from Tue-saturday the tracker.

Only test/interview/hearing/oath/additional requests usually sent

Also most likely the update of November 1st is your criminality is passed so you’re waiting for the security to be passed in order for the background check to be green (completed)

I see OK thanks for your response. I guess I'll just keep waiting. Seems like most people have their background checks completed much faster or they receive a FP request. Since I've received neither I was starting to get concerned. So many August applicants already receiving their test invites and I am stuck at the background check.
