I was going through the same feelings wondering if my application was okay, etc. as I had sent it 25th August. I received my SA today.

Though I had requested Hong Kong office and the email tells me it will be sent to the Ottawa office... I assume Ottawa means it's 'inland' application? Anyone know?

And hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! :)

CIC has started processing applications within Canada. The consensus is they do this for straightforward applications but there is no documentation/proof this is the case. Still, it seems it is good news for your application to stay in Canada.

Hi MsBigShot,

I empathise with the wait. I had also wondered if I should call the CIC previously. I should think that you will hear something soon.
Here is a generic number - I don't know if that helps.

==========
Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

Case specific enquiries form (available to clients with an application submitted to an in-Canada office or online)
Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to prerecorded information about CIC programs, order application kits, and check the status of your application.
Call Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.

You must choose one of the first five recorded options before you can speak to an agent.

Note that agents cannot:
answer questions about application status once it is sent to a Canadian visa office outside Canada,
make decisions on applications, or
help process applications more quickly.

Thank you Andrew-Brit! That's kind of you to share.

CIC received my updated forms on Sept 15th. I contacted them but call center agent said that don't calculate time from the day u sent application, calculate it from the day u sent updated forms.

This means we have to wait another 41 days after we sent the updated forms? Really?? OMG

Yes! It's true. I had to wait an extra 45 days :(

so they change the forms while your application is on route then they request updated forms , and you have to wait an extra 40+ days. So it could be 80+ days for SA , and CIC wonders why they receive frustrated and pissed off people calling them......
